Mini Review! – Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser

Nivea Body Moisturiser

On seeing the television advert for this product, I immediately thought two things:

 1. That won’t work
 2. I’m going to try it anyway.

I mean – a moisturiser that you can wash off? It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? I love having moisturised skin, but I’m lazy, and applying moisturiser, waiting for it to sink in, sticking to things, getting it all over my pyjamas – frankly, it’s a hassle I could do without. And this is only £3.99. So I decided to give it a go. I got the one for dry skin, there’s also a normal one but the skin on my body tends to be a bit on the dry side.

It says to use after cleansing, so I used a shower gel first and then applied it – exactly as you would with a shower gel really, leaving it for a short time and then washing it off.
I wasn’t expecting much, but this was actually really nice. It does leave a residue on your skin, but it’s not sticky and once you’ve dried off you could definitely get dressed straight away without getting anything onto your clothes. My skin felt silky rather than soft, and I loved the smell – it’s a classic, clean, typical Nivea scent.

I wouldn’t say that I would be able to use this instead of a traditional body moisturiser or body butter – there’s no way around it, it doesn’t give the same level of moisture and it doesn’t last as long – but as an extra, or for those days when you really can’t be bothered, this makes a great (and cheap!) addition to my shower!

  4. I have really horribly dry skin and I don't think of this as a replacement to body butters etc but rather an extra to make sure that I always have that added moisture.

  11. I actually really like it - I've never been one to moisturise a lot, so this actually works really well for me because it's so easy and quick! :-)
