Spur is a Mexican themed restaurant, a bit like a (in my opinion much better) version of Chiquitos. We started with peri peri sticky chicken wings and nachos to share, covered in cheese and guacamole and salsa and sour cream. YUM.
Washed down with wine (and refillable diet cokes, my favourite!)
The chicken wings were incredible - sticky and soft and perfect - and the spicy nachos were full of flavour.
Next up - fajitas for him.
I was feeling a bit hungover from the night before, so I picked a burger. Cheese, bacon, and guacamole.
Elegance at all times...
It was so good. I had it with chips (a really generous portion of fluffy-yet-crispy ones, perfect) and the Spur piece-de-resistance - the onion rings. These thin, salty, crispy pots of genius are the best reason for coming here, honestly. Burgers and wine - what a perfect combination!
Afterwards we wiped our mouths and went off for drinks. We had to leave the o2 because we could only find one bar, a Slug & Lettuce, in which was taking place what Ian described accurately as 'aggressive karaoke!' I was quite pleased because the sky outside was beautiful.
Back to the Wharf for drinks we went. A brilliant start to an incredibly fun bank holiday weekend!
