Little life loves this week

It’s been a good one this week, if a crazy one – I’ve only spent one night in all week and I feel slightly exhausted, but in that nice, living-life-to-the-fullest way. There’s no way around it – I definitely need a long lazy Saturday filled with face masks and hot baths and full breakfasts in fluffy dressing gowns…it's the only cure. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been loving this week!

1. Making smoothies in my Nutri bullet and having them for breakfast. My favourite combo at the moment is frozen berries, half a banana and a handful of spinach, topped with almond milk and a splash of water. I’ve been taking them to work and it’s such a nice, refreshing way to start the day. I also adore the Belvita Breakfast Biscuits – the new Cocoa flavour taste so decadent but they’re really filling and the combo of those with a cup of coffee just makes me so happy!

2. The weather! We finally had a few days of summer this week, didn’t we? Long may it last (although let’s be honest – it probably won’t!) – it’s just so nice to go out without a jacket on, wash your hair and let it dry naturally, have dinner on the balcony, eat lunch in the park. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that wasn't the only summer we’re going to get!

3. Drinks and dinner in the sunshine on Monday night with an old friend. The service and food were so awful that I’m not even going to give the restaurant the credit of mentioning it by name, but it was so nice just to sit out on the decking, looking out over this view, with the sun shining off the water, catching up.

4. The House Season 4 finale. Oh. My. God. I cried so hard and in all honesty, I’m still not sure I’m over it. I realise I’m like 10 years out of date with this but I don’t care, it’s genuinely one of the best TV shows I’ve ever seen and if you haven’t watched it you should start from the beginning, like, now.

5. Meeting my husband for a working lunch in the week – Vital salad sat in the park in the sunshine. And having big, potentially life-changing discussions which I can’t bring myself to write about just yet because I feel like I’ll somehow jinx it – update next week, possibly, HOPEFULLY.

6. Drinks in my absolute favourite local pub, The Gun, on Tuesday night. I can't count the number of times I've raved about this place on my blog, so I won't go into detail - but I've been twice this week. Oops - no judging. They've decorated the garden for the summer, and we sat out there with cold white wine and then retreated into the cosy tables by the fire, and I just feel like I fall a little bit more in love every time I go there.

7. A gorgeous new candle from Local Produce Candles in the Watermelon scent. This was a present from one of my oldest friends (who I'm trying to persuade to start her own blog!) - it's taken pride of place on my dressing table. I just think they're so pretty and vintage and they smell amazing even if some of the scents do sound a little odd!

8. Catching up with old work friends at a reunion drinks - really nice to see how people have moved on in their lives and what they're up to now.

9.The Sanctuary Dry Oil spray - this is one of my favourite products and has been for years - a dry on oil spray that moisturises your skin, smells of citrus and just generally really lifts your spirits. It's especially good on weeks like this one where I'm tired and run down and my skin looks a bit grey! Spritz it on for instant moisture and shine - good as new!

10. Tea. Just plain old English breakfast tea. Tea just makes everything better!

What have you been loving this week?

  1. Sounds like you've had a busy week! I'm trying to get healthier by trying to walk a mile 5 days a week which I have completed Monday-Friday so can have a bit more of a rest this weekend!
