Green Man festival is my anti-Glastonbury. If you’ve been considering going to a festival for a while but you’re a bit nervous, or you have kids or you just really love folk music, I’d 100% recommend it. It’s the easiest, nicest festival I’ve been to – it’s basically just like going to a nice campsite but with some music thrown into the bargain. There are even showers in every camp!
We arrived on the Thursday night straight out of work, feeling stressed out and still wound up from the week and from a stressful journey from Slough (don’t ask!) But once we’d dumped our stuff at the tent (put up by our loving friends- thanks guys!), purchased a cider and made our way to where Wild Beasts were playing in a not-overwhelmingly-crowded tent, I was pretty relaxed and happy.
We basically spent the weekend drinking cider, lounging around when it was sunny and hiding from the rain when it wasn’t. A lot of the time it was sunny and rainy at the same time, meaning a large number of rainbow photos, at least!
Band of the weekend for me was Belle & Sebastien who finished the weekend off perfectly on Sunday night, playing my husband’s dream set list. One of our friends was ill over the weekend so we spent most of it together and had so much fun!
Have you ever been to Green Man festival?
